Sikh wedding focus on unique moments between the couple and family members, reflecting on what is important in life. 

“Ceremony of joy” (Anand Karaj) happens in the gurdwara which is a Sikh place of worship.

Usually, "Ceremony of Joy" takes about two to three hours. However, the couple may include other celebrations that aren’t required for a traditional Sikh wedding.

“Everyone is seated on the ground for the entire of the ceremony.

The couple walk around the Sikh sacred scripture, Guru Granth Sahib four times. The symbolic meaning of this is the life of a Sikh revolves around the Guru and all Sikhs are taught to see the Guru as the center of their lives.
